Known as the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda is known for producing high-quality, specialty coffee, thanks to its high altitudes and rich biodiversity. In the Huye district of southern Rwanda, Angelique's Finest is a Rwandan specialty coffee brand produced entirely by women of Rwanda. Taking charge of the entire value chain, from the farm to roasting and packaging, has enabled women producers to increase their profits by 55% compared with selling green beans. Angelique's Finest is named after Angélique Karekezi, Managing Director of RWASHOSCCO, a cooperative-owned company that organizes the sale of women's coffee on the international market.
