The Gasteranthus extinctus is back !

0
It was believed that this plant had become extinct. As such, it had been baptized Gasteranthus extinctus. 40 years ago, massive deforestation decimated the species in the Andes, Ecuador (South America). In the summer of 2021, biologists went there and had the happy surprise of coming face to face with the species. To this day, this plant with fluorescent orange leaves symbolizes hope for local biodiversity.
