The earless dragon is back
3
0
The Victorian grassland earless dragon, not seen in the wild since 1969, has been rediscovered. A highly endangered species, The lizard lacks an external ear opening and functional ear drum - hence its name - and measures about 15 cm from head to tail when fully grown. In order to preserve the species, the Australian government has refused to reveal the location of the newly rediscovered population and plans to spend 188,000 Australian dollars in a trial of detection dogs to sniff out more populations of the dragon.
