The Dumbo of the oceans

0
It's called the octopus Dumbo. From its scientific name Grimpoteuthis, this species is named after Dumbo in reference to the two large ear-like fins that it bears on both sides of its head. These ears allow it to propel itself and "fly" above the seabed. The sighting of a Dumbo octopus is rare because the species lives on average at 3,000 meters depth in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
