The hornbill is a very atypical bird, close to the toucan, found in Southeast Asia. It is recognizable by its curved beak and prominent helmet. Recently, in the United States, one of these birds has been saved thanks to 3D printer technology. The 25-year-old female hornbill had a cancerous tumor at the base of her skull. To save her, scientists used a 3D printer to build her a prosthesis and replace the damaged part.
