Mexico is the country with the highest number of endangered species in the world. The country is home to 665 endangered animal species including 71 birds, 96 mammals, 98 reptiles, 181 fish and 219 amphibians. In this list describing in particular the scarlet macaw and the howler monkey. This ranking is mainly due to deforestation, the primary threat to animal habitat.
