The Dasht-e Lut Desert in Iran (Asia) is the hottest place in the world. Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this desert is an ancient closed sea that dried up millennia ago. The Lut desert has a temperature of around 79°C (174,2°F). Despite these extreme temperatures, lizards, snakes, spiders and many insects inhabit the place.
