Why do flies rub their paws?

No, this is not a malicious act! The flies very regularly rub their legs because, quite simply, they clean them. The feet of flies are covered with sensory hairs which are very useful to them: it is thanks to these that a fly can taste its food before ingesting it, picking up certain smells, but also heat, wind, humidity, or vibrations.
