Why is the sea salty?
Seawater comes from rainwater. This water drops on land soils where it meets and mixes with ions. Then, it ends up in the sea. For one water sea liter, there would be around 30 salt grams. In total, 97% of the world's seas are salty. Photo credit: Yann Hubert / The Explorers
