Peru wants to plant one million trees around Machu Picchu
To preserve the Inca site of Machu Picchu, the Peruvian president announced this week the launch of a reforestation campaign of the archaeological site. It is expected that one million trees will be planted around the citadel. This reforestation will reduce the risk of landslides and forest fires that could damage the archaeological site.
