For over 30 years, the American primatologist is studying their behaviors and has discovered a new species - Hapalemur aureus, the golden bamboo lemur. Alongside her hard work on maintaining the wild lemur's habitat, Wright has a large influence on preserving the endangered forests of the country. For all her achievements, she received the National Medal of Honour and National Order of Merit from the President of Madagascar. Photo credit: Patricia Wright
