Moringa, the tree of life
4
0
Sometimes called "The tree of life", or "The tree that never dies", moringa is a shrub in the Moringaceae family that can grow up to 10 meters tall. Native to the Himalayan foothills, moringa is known for its drought resistance and can also be used as a water filtrer. The plant is edible in its entirety, from root to seeds, pods, flowers, leaves and bark. All four Moringa species are rich in nutrients, antioxidants and glucosinolate. The Moringa contains more iron than spinach, more vitamin C than in oranges and more potassium than in bananas. Its nutritional qualities are increasingly recognized, and could represent an effective solution in the fight against malnutrition.
