Every year, 640,000 tonnes of fishing gear are abandoned in the seas and oceans. This underwater waste unfortunately causes the death of several thousand animals. Created in 2013, the American Association Healthy Seas (Clean seas) has given itself the mission of cleaning the seabed and removing this waste. Since their creation, the association's 350 divers have managed to collect 905 tons of fishing equipment. In addition to these collection actions, the association conducts awareness campaigns in schools and institutions around the world to prevent this marine pollution.
