For the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Olympic Committee launched an appeal for donations of used electronic products. After several months of collection, many electronic devices - including 6 million smartphones - have been recycled. They were melted to extract 32 kg of gold, 3,500 kg of silver and 2,200 kg of bronze. The 5,000 medals are made of 100% recycled manufactured products. Photo credit: Tokyo 2020
