Pareas carinatus is a species of tree snake that lives in the forests of Southeast Asia. In these ecosystems, snails are numerous but it is not easy to eat them. Over the centuries, the jaws of the Pareas carinatus have adapted and today allow it, thanks to a lateral movement, to remove the unctuous body of the snail from its shell.
