Former Senegalese president Senghor, the animals' lover
He lived surrounded by crowned cranes and flamingos. The former president of Senegal (Africa) and emeritus poet, Léopold Sédar Senghor was very close to animals and nature. These inspired his poems and reflected the richness of the African continent which was dear to him. He said of animals that they had a much simpler soul than that of humans.
