0
Threatened by forest fires and major droughts spreading across the country, the platypus is a semi-aquatic animal endemic to eastern Australia. To protect the species and provide emergency care, the town of Dubbo, northwest of Sydney, will open the world's first refuge for platypus. The opening is scheduled for 2022.
