The world's smallest water lily is sheltered in England

Its leaves measure 1 centimeter in diameter. The Nymphaea thermarum is the smallest water lily in the world. In 1987, this aquatic plant appeared in Rwanda following the overflow of a hot spring. In 2008, died out in its natural state. Fortunately, an ex situ collection of these water lilies is kept at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew (England).
