World's smallest rabbit in danger
0
0
In adulthood, it weighs no more than 500 grams. The Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit is the smallest rabbit in the world. He lives in an area that stretches across eastern Washington and Oregon to Idaho (USA). Unfortunately, it is an endangered species. Today, there are only several hundred individuals left alive. The rabbit feeds on sagebrush, herbaceous plants. Over the past century, nearly 80% of sagebrush areas have been converted to farms, which progressively leads to the missing of the species.
