The Greta oto is a species of butterfly with translucent wings. To camouflage itself in the tropical forests of Latin America, the butterfly relies on transparency. This biological peculiarity also allows it a low absorption and reflection of light. Its beauty is a decoy because it is very toxic to its predators due to the toxins it feeds on.
