Mount Roraima, the floating island of South America
1
0
The clouds that surround it have earned it the nickname of floating island. Mount Roraima is located between Venezuela and Guyana (South America). Due to the extreme verticality of its sheer cliffs which can reach 2,810 meters, Mount Roraima is one of the most inaccessible places on Earth. A unique ecosystem is there: 33% of the plants present on the mountain do not exist anywhere else. Photo credit: Peter Ulrich
