Lynx on the rise

Intensive human persecution led to the extinction of the Eurasian lynx in Central Europe around two centuries ago. From autumn 2023, the German state of Baden-Württemberg will be reintroducing a dozen Eurasian lynx (lynx carpathicus) to re-establish the species in the region, mainly in the Black Forest. The project, entitled "Luchs in Baden-Württemberg", literally "Lynx in Baden-Württemberg", has just won The LIFE Award for Nature.
