The Okavango Delta is the second largest inland delta in the world (18,000 km2), after the central Niger Delta. It has the particularity of flowing not into the sea... but into the Kalhari Desert in Botswana! A Unesco World Heritage site, the delta is home to some of the world’s most endangered species of large mammal, such as the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, as well as an abundance of birds of many species.
