European bison reintroduced to England
It is the most imposing land mammal in Europe. In England, the bison had been extinct for over 6,000 years. To restore natural habitats, two British associations will reintroduce a small group of European bison in the south-east of the country. The bison eat the bark of trees, rubbing against it to eliminate their winter fur, adding new food sources for other species. Photo credit: Chloe Leis
