Life after life
It's an unusual place to be buried. In 2007, an underwater cemetery was created off the coast of Florida. Its name: Neptune Memorial Reef. The initial project was to create an artificial concrete reef for marine fauna and flora. To finance such a project, investors had the idea of offering those who wish to afford a unique place to be. It is a double success: to date, the ashes of 1,500 people deposited in this mausoleum and more than 190 colonies of corals have settled in this space of 4,000 m2 which also hosts 56 species of fish but also crabs or sea urchins.
