Manas reserve protects Indian rhinos
0
0
The Manas reserve, northwest India, is a treasure trove of biodiversity. Unfortunately, for many years, the site has been the target of poachers and large-scale deforestation projects. In 2006, an alliance between Indian and Bhutanese institutions and several non-governmental associations enabled the creation of the large protected park of Manas. Twenty years ago, the reserve was home to 200 Indian rhinos. Today, there are 3,500.
