Almost thirty years of study on over 600 killer whales have led to the following conclusion: most male killer whales never leave their mothers. The study shows that the chances of survival are higher when the killer whale stay with their mother. The latter stays with her son to ensure his reproduction and thus keep an eye on the descendants.
