The Antarctica's blue whale is back!
After thirty years of reinforced protection of the species and thanks to cessation of fishing of which they were victims, Antarctica's blue whales are no longer in great danger of extinction. 55 specimens were observed in early 2020 in northern Antarctica and off Argentina by researchers from the British Antarctic Survey.
