Iceland will definitely ban whaling

By 2024, Iceland pledges to eliminate whaling quotas. The cost of hunting, competition with Japan, the decline in whale meat consumption, and the evolution of public opinion are the main reasons that led to this government decision. Only three countries in the world transmit commercial whaling: Iceland, Japan, and Norway. As a reminder, whales play a major ecological role in maintaining marine ecosystems. Throughout its life, each whale traps 33 tonnes of CO2 by eating phytoplankton.
