This is the tenth species of fish he has discovered. Akihito, Emperor of Japan from 1989 to 2019 and renowned researcher in marine biology, has just discovered a new species of goby. This fish does not measure more than 10 centimeters. Akihito’s research is so valuable that two goby subspecies are named after him: Akihito Futuna and Akihito Vanuatu.
