Jean-Louis Etienne is the first man to reach the North Pole in 1986. At 73, the French explorer has not said his last word. Named Polar Pod, his next expedition will take place in the Southern Ocean (Antarctica) to study the effects of global warming in this region. For two years, Jean-Louis Etienne and 8 scientists will live together aboard the vertical Polar Pod vessel which is 80 meters deep. The team will live on the surface of the ship.
