Two inhabitants of the island of Borneo (Indonesia) were walking in a forest in Kalimantan, a province in the south of the country, and came face to face with the bird. The black-browed Babbler had not shown any signs of life since 1840. Endemic to the island of Borneo, it is the Asian bird with the longest recorded extinction.
