The arctic bank is melting. This melting poses one of the greatest threats to the lives of polar bears. A population of polar bears discovered in southeastern Greenland would have a better chance of survival than other individuals. This discovered species is very home-loving and should suffer less from the disappearance of the pack ice. Geographically distant, they benefit less from the advantages of the pack ice because they evolve in the middle of fjords and freshwater glaciers.
