During an expedition to the island of Madagascar (Africa), German researchers came face to face with Voeltzkow's chameleons. This species was considered extinct for a hundred years. According to the first hypotheses, the species lives only during the rainy season (November to March) and disappears the rest of the year, which makes its monitoring difficult.
