It was one of the ten most wanted birds in the world. The dusky tetraka (Crossleyia tenebrosa), nicknamed the songbird of Madagascar, was recently spotted in a rainforest in the Andapa district of northern Madagascar. Recognizable by its golden throat, the species was considered extinct for 24 years. The dark tetraka is an endemic bird of Madagascar, like more than half of the birds living on the island.
