Haïdar El Ali, great defender of the environment

He is one of the greatest environmental defenders in West Africa. For years, Haïdar El Ali, former Minister of the Environment of Senegal, has been raising public awareness on climate change. His fights are multiple. He fought against illegal overfishing, deforestation and poaching and helped to create marine protected areas. Today, thanks to its influence, it allows the planting of 30 million tropical trees in Casamance (southern Senegal) to protect the mangroves.
