The great white shark is one of the largest predatory fishes living in the oceans. The species exists for more than 16 million years thanks to mutations in its DNA that protect it from cancer and other diseases. The Save Our Seas Foundation research center in Florida has discovered this genome mutation and hopes to apply these findings to the treatment of some human diseases.
