Many snakes can strike and climb, rippling their bodies while also partially lifting off the ground. The Chrysopelea ornata, from Southeast Asia, is considered one of the best among the flying snakes. They can flatten their bodies in midair and glide through the treetops, up to 300 feet at a time. This atypical mode of movement has earned it the nickname "flying snake".
