Fingal's cave, mystical curiosity of Scotland

Located on the island of Staffa in Scotland (Northern Europe), Fingal's cave is one of the most beautiful places in the country. A true geological curiosity, the cave is made up of large columns in volcanic basalt. It was formed 59 million years ago following the eruption of a volcano. The Vikings named the island, Staffa, which means “the island of pillars”. The cave is the nesting place of many species such as puffins, cormorants, and razorbills.
