Mexico is the fourth country in the world with the most cetaceans in captivity. At the end of October 2022, Mexican deputies passed a new law prohibiting the use of marine mammals in shows or any other tourist activity in the country. Dolphins, seals, otters and all other marine mammals can no longer be used for recreational and commercial purposes in Mexico.
