She works at the Natural History Museum in London. Guadalupe Bribiesca-Contreras is a Mexican marine biologist and seabed specialist. With other colleagues, she studies animal and plant species that live at depths of more than 5,000 meters. Recently, they led an expedition to the Clarion-Clipperton area, located between Mexico and Hawaii in the Pacific. They refer to 55 specimens belonging to 48 different species. In particular, they demonstrated a species capable of producing light. This research is essential to better understand the seabed. The challenge is to understand how these species manage to live and reproduce in such a hostile environment... so many questions that continue to fascinate.
