Diwali: the festival of lights
3
0
Diwali, India's "Festival of Lights", is the country's most important religious celebration. For five days, streets, houses and temples are lit up with thousands of diyas (clay lamps) symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. Families gather for prayers, floral decorations and feasts of traditional foods. The festival celebrates various Hindu deities and legends that vary from region to region, but a common theme is the victory of good over evil. Diwali embodies values of peace, unity and renewal, creating an atmosphere of joy and spirituality.
