Discovery of a giant lake under Greenland ice
It would be millions of years old! A giant lake has been discovered under the Greenland Ice Cap, the very large thick glacier in the northwest of the region. This lake is located under a 1.8 kilometers thick ice cap. This discovery helps to understand past climate changes to better predict the evolution of the ice sheet. Photo credit: William Bossen
