Underwater sound speakers to save the Great Barrier Reef
12

Healthy coral reefs are very noisy places, a sound atmosphere that dresses fish and pushes them to settle there. These latter are essential to coral reef's life balance. The reefs become very quiet when they degrade. At Lizard Island, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef (Australia), Australian and British scientists have developed a new technology. They installed underwater loudspeakers next to corals in poor health. The wires emitted by the loudspeakers attracted 50% more fish.
