Coffee pulp to restore forests

According to Rebecca Cole and Rakan Zahawideux, two researchers from the University of Hawaii, coffee pulp has the virtues of reforestation. Since 2018, the two scientists have dumped 30 buckets of coffee pulp in a deforested area in southern Costa Rica, in the Sabalito Biological Reserve. In just two years, the area has grown into a small forest, with an average canopy of 4 meters high. Photo credit: John Donaghy
