Daphne Sheldrick: a life devoted to elephants
3
0
Her husband was the director of Kenya's largest national park (East Africa). When he died in 1977, Daphne Sheldrick decided to create a foundation in the continuity of the action of her late husband. In 1987, she created the first nursery for orphaned elephants in the world. She devotes her whole life to the conservation of this species. Daphne Sheldrick died in 2018 but her foundation continues to fight poaching in Kenya and collect young elephants.
