How nature makes snow?

Three conditions are necessary to make snow: a temperature lower than 0 degrees Celsius (32ºF), the presence of water vapor and tiny particles. When it is cold, water vapor meets cold clouds. At their contact, the steam turns into drops of water and then ice crystals. These crystals stick to very fine particles in the air and form snowflakes. The colder the cloud, the larger the snowflake. Photo credit: Valentin Pacaut
