Chocolate Hills: a geological treasure
4
0
The Chocolate Hills are located on the island of Bohol in the southern Philippines (Southeast Asia). Extending over 56 km², these 1,776 hills form a great geological curiosity. At the end of the dry season, they change color from green to brown. Hence their name chocolate hills. With a height of 30 to 50 meters, these geological formations were formed two million years ago due to movements of tectonic plates.
