Since 2013, poaching of elephants and rhinos has dropped on average by 80% in Kenya. This fall was made possible thanks to the efforts of Judi Wakhungu. Minister of the Environment of Kenya in 2013, she passed a law, the Wildlife Conservation Act. This law strengthens the protection of wildlife. Poachers face a record fine of 20 million Kenyan shillings, nearly 170,000 euros, and up to 20 years in prison. Photo credit: Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung
