The pudu is the smallest cervid in the world. Two existing species of pudu: the northern Pudu and the Pudu Puda. These two species live in South America. On average, this species does not exceed 16 inches (40 centimeters). It leads a solitary life and takes advantage of its small size to hide from predators. Photo credit: Nigel Swales
